The Rainbow PUSH Coalition commends Marc Morial and the National Urban League for publishing The State of Black America 2009. We join in the call to Barack Obama, in his historic presidency, to address the critical challenges facing all Americans, including unemployment, home foreclosure, education and health care reform. As usual, these challenges are especially daunting for the black community and we expect the administration to apply solutions in proportion to the need for relief.
At our Rainbow PUSH annual conference in Chicago in June, we will honor Mr. Morial and the National Urban League for their leadership at this critical juncture in the nation's history as we grapple with the lingering effects of race discrimination.
We pledge ourselves to helping to enact the president's new vision of America by doing everything we can to bring the nation's promise to fruition.
